United CC batted first and were off to a blazing start on the back of their openers, Irfan Nagri and Sumair Patel. Sumair Patel in particular was in tremendous touch and was timing the ball sweetly as he struck 9 fours during his stay in which he scored 70 of just 46. On the other hand, Irfan scored 15 with 2 fours and a six. After a brilliant start, the innings was carried forward by the middle order duo, Ubaid and Zain, they scored 23 and 39 respectively. Zain played with a strike of 177 and was instrumental in giving United CC a great first innings score. The innings was closed on a high by Jaffer Baloch with his neat little cameo of 17. United managed to score a big 189.
The chase also got off to a splendid start as the openers thrashed the opening bowlers all around the park. Atif and Fazal together scored 40 runs and gave a perfect platform for rest of the batsmen. Once the openers were dismissed United came back strongly and did not give much to others. They were so tight with their line and lengths and fielders backed them up which meant that Wonder Boys were getting frustrated and in the process they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Sumair Patel was having an extra ordinary day as after a fine batting effort he contributed with the ball as well picking up 3 wickets, he was partnered by Ubaid Patel who also picked up 3 wickets at an economy rate of just under 6. With this United CC comfortably defended their total and won by 39 runs.
