Takaful Pakistan Limited defeated Midas Safety in a match in the 31st Challengers Corporate Cup.
Takaful batted first and although they lost one opener for just 7 runs, the other opener Hammad Mughal smashed a fantastic 109 runs off just 77 balls. He scored 13 boundaries and remained not out throughout the innings. Shehroz Haider’s 32 off 25 balls and Dawood Khan’s 26 off 16 balls helped the team reach a high total of 182 runs. The bowlers were unable to restrict their opponents.
Midas Safety also lost one of their openers early on, while Asim Chandio scored 36 off 40 balls. Ahmer Iqbal’s 19 runs and Rizwan Hussain’s 32 runs helped stabilize the team but after their dismissals the team collapsed and the batsmen all got out for single digit scores. The team only managed 128 runs. The bowlers bowled economically and picked up essential wickets.
Takaful Pakistan Limited won by 54 runs.
