In this high scoring clash Gladiators batted first and were off to a very good start as Kamran and Shahzad scored some key runs at the top order and gave their side a perfect start. Kamran in particular was in terrific form as he scored 62 of 47 balls and hit 6 fours and 1 monstrous six, Shahzad supported him and scored 19 of 20 with 2 fours. The momentum was build and the platform was laid for rest of the batsmen and Zahid took full advantage of the opportunity and scored crucial runs in the middle order. He made 45 of 30 balls with 2 sixes and 4 fours. In the end Gladiators managed to score a very good 170.
The response from Benitoz was even a better one. They did not get the start they were looking for as they lost wicket on second ball but even then the rest of the batsmen were up for the challenge and played brilliantly. Asad started it all with his magnificent half century, he scored 54 of 34 balls with 9 fours in it. Hamza Ali Khan and Shumail Aziz then took charge and carried the innings forward after Asad scoring 14 and 32 respectively. They were on course on their way but the knockout punch and the highlight of the match came from Umari Ahmed. With his fine innings, he put Benitoz in front and shut each door for Gladiators to come back. He scored 67 of just 27 at and astonishing strike rate of 248 with 4 sixes to his name. This innings meant that Benitoz chased the target down only in 17th over.
