Vanthali Blues Win Off the Last Ball

Dawson Stars Vs Vanthali Blues

16th Challengers Cup

Dawson Stars batted first and were off to a rocky start losing Dawood Dawson quite early in the game but after that they recovered well on the backs of Aashir Ahmed and Mohammad Ali. They constructed a good partnership and stabilized the innings, Aashir scored 26 off 16 balls whereas Mohammad Ali scored 41 off 34 with 2 fours and 1 six. Once they were dismissed, the entire middle order contributed but none could carry his bat to boost the innings at the later stages. On the other hand, Naveed Nagda was the pick of the bowler with 4 scalps by giving away just 20 runs, Rehan Nepal also contributed with 3 wickets. In the end, Dawson Stars scored 158 in their 20 overs.

In response, the chase was off to a good start as the openers realized the importance of keeping wickets in hand and steadily built the innings without losing early wickets. Aamir Majeed was the main wall in front of Dawson Stars, he held the one end together and kept ticking the scorecard, he scored 71 off almost run a ball 68 balls, with 8 fours and 2 sixes. The top order gave a good platform to the lower middle order to launch in the later stages and Farrukh Rangonia did just that, he took the advantage of the good start and smashed the bowlers all around the park during his blitz, he scored 39 runs off 25 balls with 3 fours and 1 six. Dawson Stars however fought back, dismissing him and picking up a few quick wickets but it was Vanthali Blues who emerged victorious as Naveed held his nerve and took his side to victory off the last ball.
