Karachi Volts and Aga Khan Veterans played a thrilling match at Aga Khan Gymkhana ground. Volts batted first and openers Rangeen and Faizan got them off to a decent start with scores of 15 runs each. Muzammil then played a fantastic knock of 42 runs off 33 balls but then there was a mini collapse as Daniyal, Shayan and Sultan were dismissed for duck! Razi Ahsan took responsibility and scored 34 runs to ensure his team did not get a low score and at least ended with a fighting total of 140 runs all out in 22 overs. For Veterans, Akber Alauddin took 4 wickets and Sabir got 3 wickets while Sameer took 2 wickets and Naeem picked up a wicket.
In reply, Aga Khan Veterans lost Asif Nasiruddin after he had scored just 4 runs but Anees with 10 and Naeem with 23 runs stabilized the innings before Asif Qamruddin hit an unbeaten 57 runs off 45 deliveries. He partnered with Sabir Khan whose 24 run knock almost got their team home but they eventually ended at 138 for 6 at the end of 22 overs and fell short of winning by a mere 3 runs. For Karachi Volts, the bowlers had a critical role and they took key wickets at crucial intervals and Sultan stood out with 3 key wickets for just 19 runs. in addition, Sarfaraz, Muzammil and Rangeen also got a wicket each.
